Ocean Plastics & Sustainability Efforts

Eureka Safety continues its efforts towards a sustainable future into 2022 with the introduction of recycled ocean plastics into the majority of its assortment. This journey begins by replacing small parts of non-performance-critical components.

Eureka Safety Sustainability & Environmental Efforts

  • Elimination of toxic chemicals & solvents in production process and product
  • No use of poisons (biocides) for odor reduction / “anti-odor”
  • Complete switch from plastic to paper packaging
  • 30% improvement in coating durability (2022) for lower life cycle impact
  • Production facility is BSCI social compliant certified
  • Lightweight products = less resources consumed
  • Volume maximization in transport & storage
  • Salesforce travelling with electric vehicles & free charging for office staff
  • Outgoing goods delivery CO2 compensated
  • Headquarters & warehouse heated and powered by solar and bio energy (pictured)
  • Digital focus: training, meetings, and the reduction of paper consumption

One step closer to Carbon Neutrality

Eureka Sweden’s outbound transport goes carbon neutral!

From our switch to paper packaging over plastic bags, paper hooks over plastic, efforts in renewable energy and biodiversity at our HQ; we at Eureka always work to produce high performance, value adding products with an as-small-as-possible environmental footprint.

Starting already from January 1st this year, we took yet another step. The CO2 emissions caused by the outgoing transports are now fully compensated for by an accredited external company.

Goodbye Plastic, Hello Paper! Hooks!

Goodbye plastic, hello paper: update

Switching to paper packaging just isn’t enough!
During 2020 we will also be switching out our plastic hooks to a card paper in our effort to reach fully environmentally friendly accessories

Every minute nearly two million single-use plastic bags are distributed worldwide and every year 8 million metric tons of plastic ends up in our oceans. In 2020 Eureka will continue rolling out paper packaged products in an effort to reduce our impact on ocean pollution.
